Big E ‘Removed’ From WWE Smackdown

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E was originally set to be in a program with the returning Aleister Black after he was attacked by Black and hit with his finisher – the Black Mass. However, after Black was named as one of many surprise WWE superstars that were released from their contract this past week, members of the WWE universe were wondering what WWE would do in regards to the creative direction of the former WWE Intercontinental Champion. This isn’t the first edition of Smackdown that Big E has missed recently either.

However, Big E was not scheduled or seen on-screen during tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown. Instead during a match between Big E’s rivals in the Intercontinental title picture – current champion Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn showed up to interfere. Zayn, a former Intercontinental champion himself, has been in the title picture, along with the aforementioned for some time now as well.

In other news revolving around Big E, Big E’s long-time stablemate and former WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston discussed Big E’s current solo run after the New Day split up during the 2020 draft. Kingston made the following comments in conversation with TALKSport. Credit to the outlet for the below.

“Big E has every single tool to be at the top of this industry and the face of this company and his solo run on SmackDown thus far has proven that 10-times over.

“A lot of people had wanted to see Big E do his own thing for a while and they’re getting what they want right now and he’s delivering in the way only he can. When I see him out there doing great things every times he’s out there, I can’t help but smile because he deserves it.

“We’ll see with what happens with Money in the Bank. Him and Apollo [Crews], right? Apollo has been doing great and has really begun to find himself with Commander Azeez.
