Plans for a Hell in a Cell match between Edge and Finn Balor as the Brood and Demon, respectively, at the Royal Rumble had been in discussions, but the idea was scrapped due to Edge’s unavailability due to filming commitments for the Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and The Olympian,” in which he is playing Ares, the Greek God of War. Edge eliminated both Balor and Damian Priest, leading to a brawl between the three that continued all the way up the walkway, where Beth Phoenix made a surprising return and delivered a spear to Rhea Ripley.
