The Universal Champion and his advocate kicked off the first RAW of 2020 to announce what they had in store for the Royal Rumble. While the WWE Universe was eagerly waiting to hear who would challenge the Beast Incarnate at the annual event, Paul Heyman revealed that Brock Lesnar wouldn’t be defending the Universal Championship.
According to them, there’s not one man on the RAW, SmackDown, or NXT roster worth Lesnar’s time, and that’s why he’s decided to instead challenge himself in an interesting way. Heyman stated that Lesnar would be entering the Royal Rumble. Not only that, but he’d be starting the match at #1.

The Universal Championship will not be defended at the event. However, dozens of Superstars will get a chance to take out Lesnar. What that means for the man who is able to eliminate Lesnar, though, is undetermined. That being said, it can be assumed that whoever is able to pull off that feat will challenge Lesnar at WrestleMania later this year.
