Brodie Lee reveals when his WWE burial started

Brodie Lee, formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE, parted ways with the company almost one year after he had requested his release.

Lee previously talked about how Vince McMahon perceived him and even wanted him to speak in a Southern accent.

Brodie Lee spoke to Talk Is Jericho, where he talked about his stint in WWE. He pinpointed one instance of his career where he felt his burial began.

Brodie Lee talked about his time in the WWE when he had a battle royale for the championship. There was a spot where he and AJ Styles were supposed to go over the ropes and hit the floor simultaneously, and Lee said it worked fine in rehearsal, but then during the actual match he botched it slightly and it was obvious one of them touched the floor first.

WWE still worked around it and pretended as if the spot had gone as planned, but in the next match, AJ Styles (who was then a heel) submitted and pinned Lee in the same match after the match was restarted. To Lee, this was a punishment for botching the spot and he considered it “the end” for his chances in the WWE.

Harper was gone from WWE television for eight months following that. He did dark matches every week because “I knew I would go out there and they would chant my name and I thought, ‘Oh maybe Vince is watching this week.”

Now he is the Exalted One in AEW and certainly having a better time.
