Bruce Prichard reveals Vince McMahon’s reaction to Hulk Hogan leaving WWE for WCW

Hulk Hogan leaving WWE to join WCW in 1994 is still one of the most shocking moments from not only the Attitude Era but the history of wrestling as well.

On the latest episode of his Something to Wrestle podcast, Bruce Prichard talked about this and revealed Vince McMahon’s reaction to Hogan’s departure from the company.

Prichard explained that the Boss was hurt very bad from this decision of the Hulkster and he was hurt from a personal standpoint as well as a professional standpoint:

“He was hurt, and he was hurt not just from a business standpoint, he was hurt from a personal standpoint, because through those building years, there were no two closer people in the business than Vince and Hulk, that helped develop all those aspects of Hulkamania along the way. So there was a personal bond and a personal friendship that had been built that now, Hulk going, he can say it was business, it was personal. I think Vince really took it personally and I think he was hurt. It was like a really bad divorce.”

Prichard also talked about the company officials’ reaction and revealed that they had accepted the fact that Hogan had left and everyone had tried to move on.
