CDC guidelines might prevent WrestleMania 36 from taking place

The coronavirus is yet to be contained and the situation does not seem to be getting any better. The Center Of Disease Control has released a set of guidelines, in order to, combat the COVID-19 outbreak. So professional wrestling might be mostly halted for the next two months.

According to the CDC, no gatherings with over 50 people will be taking place for the next 8 weeks. This includes sporting events, concerts and any other events.

Guidance as of 3/15/2020

Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities. Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies. These events can be planned not only by organizations and communities but also by individuals.

Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.

Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing.  When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual.

This recommendation does not apply to the day to day operation of organizations such as schools, institutes of higher learning, or businesses. This recommendation is made in an attempt to reduce introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection in communities already affected by the virus.  This recommendation is not intended to supersede the advice of local public health officials.

Wrestle Votes also commented on CDC’s guidelines. So it seems WrestleMania 36 will not be taking place for at least the next two months.

With the latest CDC recommendations regarding large groups, WWE simply cannot go on as is for WrestleMania. No crowds larger than 50 people for 8 weeks is the recommendation. Also, I would expect all TV events to be from the Performance Center for the foreseeable future.

The Tampa officials will hold a meeting next week in order to decide what will become of WrestleMania. The event getting postponed is inevitable.

So don’t follow the guidelines, done and done. What are they going to do, arrest you? Kill you? The government can’t get away with that unless the people allow it.

I even agree, but news is about facts, not speculation. If he wants to speculate, than he needs to report it as speculation, not fact.

  • Dirt McGirt

I never said it was going to, dummy. I said it MIGHT because no ones knows what tomorrow will bring. So I guess thank you for outing yourself as a fool along with the six other idiots who think they can tell the future. You all need to learn how to read and grow up.

Wrestlemania will be taped in Orlando with no fans at performance center

While I am not fan of Harrison, his statement is more likely than your “it might clear up tomorrow”.

Life as we know it will be impossible if these guidelines pass. It’s a scary thing to think about.

I agree with Omar, no chance will this all clear up by tomorrow. If you actually believe that you are an absolute moron!

  • Dirt McGirt

You’re clearly second on that list followed by whatever idiot liked your comment.

“This whole thing might clear up tomorrow. You do not know that.”

Now who is ignorant and “the most worthless contributor on this site.”

  • Dirt McGirt

“The event getting postponed is inevitable.” Are you a clairvoyant? No? Then shut up, you negative nancy. This whole thing might clear up tomorrow. You do not know that. You are the most worthless contributor on this site. Amish should have never hired you in the first place. You have zero ability to proof read, no understanding of grammar; you can’t even be bothered to read what other writers on this site have posted.
