Did the return of Charlotte Flair impact WWE’s plans for Lana? The ‘Ravishing Russian’ was one of several surprising names that were shockingly let go from their WWE contract this past week with other top WWE female stars including Ruby Riott and WWE NXT talent Santana Garrett being let go from their contracts. Prior to her release it seemed like there were big plans in store for Lana as she had been in a long-standing feud with one half of the current WWE Women’s Champions, Nia Jax and had been in a popular tag team with Naomi. This new Charlotte Flair photo has pregnancy rumors fueled.
According to a report from FightfulSelect.com Lana and Naomi constantly followed up about their creative status in WWE and wanted assurance that the two were going to be doing something. According to the same report, it was noted that there were different plans for Lana until the return of Charlotte Flair on the main roster – where Vince McMahon, WWE’s Chairman assured her that more would be in the pipeline and it would not be the end of the Lana character.
Lana’s final WWE appearance came on the May 31st episode of RAW, where along with Naomi the pair lost a number one contenders match for the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
