Chris Jericho on the origin of Inner Circle

Chris Jericho introduced his ‘Inner Circle’ during the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite and the faction has since gone on to become one of the top groups in the wrestling world.

 


 

YJ2 brought in Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager on the latest episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast where he revealed interesting details about the origin of the group.

Jericho revealed that the idea for him to lead a faction was discussed from the moment he came to AEW on and he then went on to explain why he was excited for it:

“The moment that I came to AEW, the idea was for me to have a faction, Tony Khan really wanted that and thought it was a good idea, and I never had a faction before. I’ve had tag team partners but being the leader of a faction kind of stood out to me. I thought it was a good idea, so then we had to figure out who are we going to get involved in this and throw around different ideas and come up with his whole amazing group that we have.”

Chris Jericho also revealed other details of the formation of the group during the episode including the details on how and when each member for his faction was chosen.
