CM Punk is back in the wrestling ring on Stephen Amell’s new Starz series ‘Heels.’ WWE commented on CM Punk on their show last night.
Amell tweeted, “Please welcome @CMPunk to @HeelsSTARZ — He was a little rusty in the ring yesterday, but I assured him it was just like riding a bike.”
Stephen Amell wrestled at WWE SummerSlam 2015, teaming with Neville against Cody ‘Stardust’ Rhodes and King Barrett. Amell has also wrestled at ‘All Out’ and in ROH, making his most recent wrestling appearance at AEW Revolution 2020, accompanying Cody to the ring. Could Stephen help get Cody and Punk together to work out an AEW deal? We can only hope!
Amell was injured during his last match against Christopher Daniels.
“Right before Episode 7×07, I wrestled Christopher Daniels and I fractured my hip,” Amell said during a MegaCon panel back in May 2019. “There was nothing to be done. It couldn’t get any worse, it could just not heal as fast, and we had to do the most stunt-heavy episode of the show.
I had to send a note going, ‘I know I’m an idiot, don’t treat me any differently, this is on me. Apologies.’ I don’t want to have to send that note again. So, until I’m done with the show, I’m staying out of the squared circle.”
