Cody Rhodes comments on The Young Bucks calling Adam Page a jobber

Leading up to the AEW Tag Team Championship match at AEW Revolution, things got a little intense. The Young Bucks were set to face Kenny Omega & Adam “Hangman” Page for the belts, and prior to the event, had a sit-down discussion with one another.

Moderated by Jim Ross, the Bucks stated that no matter the outcome at Revolution, the four of them would shake hands. Nothing is bigger than the Elite, after all. Adam Page took exception to that, reminding them he attempted to leave the Elite months ago.

Tensions quickly rose, leading to Nick Jackson claiming Page was “just a jobber in Ring of Honor” before the Bullet Club took him in. Since then, the relationship between the four has only gotten worse.

During a Q&A on Twitter today, Cody Rhodes was asked about that moment and claimed it was just brought about in the heat of the moment.

People say stuff in the heat of the moment. Everybody in The Elite has done something for each other and vice versa, it’s maybe the only faction in history that really hinges on all of us being linked. A lot of love between this bunch. A lot.

Next week, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara will face Adam Page and a “mystery partner.” Since Kenny Omega is currently sidelined, Page will have to look for another ally. With Nick Jackson reportedly away from the ring awaiting his wife to give birth, Page may bring in Matt Jackson. Though, considering the latest episode of AEW, that seems unlikely.
