Commentators Sit Down With Ruby Riott

As we come back to the round table of commentator’s, they are joined by WWE Superstar Ruby Riott who will take part in the 6-Woman Elimination Chamber Match scheduled for later tonight.

Riott is asked how she is doing to which Riott responds she is doing good and feeling ready. Riott goes on to say she will not discredit the former Riot Squad members Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, as they are products of Riott. Riott continues on to say she taught them everything they know, so of course they are a threat. However Riott finishes saying she will have to put them in their place, then secure her place at Wrestlemania opposite Becky Lynch.

Peter Rosenberg then chimes in asking Ruby Riott if she’s a little distracted by the Riott Squad as another threat that is being missed is Shayna Baszler. Riott responds saying she knows everyone has their favorites, but she doesn’t understand why she has been overlooked for so long. Riott says she is sitting there right now because they cannot forget about her, and everyone will find out why when she steps into the chamber tonight.

David Otunga speaks to Riott last, pointing out that the two former Riott Squad members are the only two with experience in the chamber. Otunga asks if Riott is concerned about the chamber itself. Riott says they have always relied on someone to get where they are, while Riott does it alone. She ends by saying it doesn’t matter what surrounds her, all she has to do is get through it to get to Wrestlemania.

With that Ruby Riott exits. The counter is at 47:38 as we go to another video package for tomorrow’s RAW, highlighting Edge’s return following the disastrous attack he took at the hands of former friend Randy Orton.

Commentator’s Round-table

The commentators all discuss the Randy Orton/Edge scenario as the video package ends highlighting Edge’s return for tomorrow night’s Monday Night RAW. Otunga says this is the most dangerous Randy Orton that we’ve seen in a long time. Rosenberg adds Edge has inspired Orton to be the performer he is.

Charly Caruso welcomes The Miz and John Morrison over video stream. The SmackDown Tag-Team Champions begin speaking saying they have to take on 10 Superstars in their first title defense match. Morrison gives a quick history lesson, saying, “We are gonna be like the Spartans, beat the crap out of a bunch or Romans like when Cortes took over South America.”

The Miz says “Miz and Morrison ARE tag-team wrestling.” Rosenberg says he has a question for Morrison who hasn’t been in the chamber since 2011. Morrison says the chamber is bigger than he remembers. Miz interrupts Morrison’s response saying, “How DARE you question if Morrison is ready, he was born ready! Plus, we are *singsong* Miz and Morrison… hey hey… ho-ho…” which ends their interview.

Once again the match-ups for tonight are highlighted pointing out again the Drew Gulak vs. Daniel Bryan match will open the pay-per-view event.

Backstage Interview

Sarah Schreiber welcomes Andrade and Zelina Vega as they are seen backstage for an interview before the start of Elimination Chamber. Vega declares she has to set the record straight on what actually went down last week.

According to Vega, Humbeerto did not pin Andrade fairly and legally. Rey Mysterio illegally entered the ring and kicked Angel Garza into Andrade. The referee did not stop the match. Humberto then took advantage, going after Andrade in a moment of weakness.

Out of sportsmanship, Humberto should have stopped the match, but he couldn’t take on a 100% Andrade. Vega declares Andrade will prove that tonight in the ring. Vega affirms that Humberto will be a success one day, adding it will not be at the expense of Andrade. Andrade speaks in Spanish, ending his thought in English to Carrillo, “I hope you are smart enough to quit tonight”

Final Moments Before Elimination Chamber Starts

The Usos hype their match for tonight, dismissing each of the tag-teams as they welcome us to The Uso Penitentiary. As we come back to the Commentator’s Round-table, the clock is at 2:29 as Elimination Chamber is only minutes away. Otunga says he chooses The Usos, Caruso mentions Heavy Machinery, Goldberg declares The Usos vs. New Day is magic.

Tonight is about the ultimate belief in yourself. Settle in, the Elimination Chamber starts…. now!

WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER PPV RESULTS

The elaborate “cold open” video package starts off the 2020 WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, as we embark on the final PPV stop on the Road to WrestleMania 36.

From there, we shoot inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. where fireworks erupt and pyro explodes at the top of the entrance way as Michael Cole officially welcomes us to the show.

Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak

The familiar theme song of Daniel Bryan then hits the house speakers inside the arena and the fans get on their feet and begin with the “Yes!” chants. Michael Cole explains to the viewing audience that we will be kicking off tonight’s PPV where things left off on Friday Night SmackDown.

As Daniel leads “Yes!” chants on the turnbuckle, we shoot to the announce table for our first look at the commentary team for the show. Then, Drew Gulak’s theme hits and out he comes as highlights from this past Friday night’s SmackDown are shown to explain how this match was set up for tonight.

The Spanish and German announce teams are introduced by Cole and shown briefly on camera and then the bell sounds to start our first PPV bout of the evening.

Early on, the two do a lot of mat-wrestling, with Gulak doing every move that Bryan does, only he does it a bit better — which the announcers do a good job of explaining as it happens. They also tell the story of Gulak growing up a fan of Bryan’s, but spotting mistakes he made over the years and always knowing in the back of his mind that he could exploit them if the two were to ever meet.

Now the announcers remind us about Heath Slater informing Gulak that going after the knee of Bryan is a good strategy, and Gulak is doing exactly that, as he focuses his attack now that he is comfortably in the offensive driver’s seat, on the leg of Bryan.

Gulak is now switching his attack to focus on the neck of Bryan. Michael Cole stresses on commentary that Bryan almost had his career ended due to neck issues over the years.

After some nasty Dragon Suplexes, Bryan is on the floor with the announcers questioning whether or not he can continue in the match. The referee begins counting him out, with his count reaching nine.

Back in the ring, Bryan starts firing up on offense and making a bit of a comeback. It is eventually cut off when the top head to the top rope and Gulak turns the tide. Gulak nails a high spot off the top with Bryan landing face-first, jacking his neck up some more.

Now, Gulak is looking for the Dragon Sleeper on the hurt neck of Bryan. Bryan somehow reverses this into the Yes! Lock submission. He tightens it up and eventually Gulak, who refuses to tap out, passes out. Bryan wins.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

WWE United States Title
Andrade (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo

The WWE U.S. Champion Andrade, accompanied by Zelina Vega, make their way to the ring as it is time for our second match of the evening.

Humberto Carrillo, the opponent for the WWE U.S. Champion, now makes his way out second for our first title match of the evening.

As soon as the bell sounds, Andrade charges at Carrillo and hits a back elbow and covers him immediately 1-2…Carrillo just barely manages to kick out in time.

The match continues with Andrade dominating the offense early on and Carrillo only showing brief signs of life here and there until he finally clotheslines the champion over the top rope and out to the floor.

Back in the ring, the action continues.

The two exchange turns in the offensive lead without the other establishing a lengthy run of dominance until Andrade starts turning up the intensity and taking it to the challenger.

Carrillo ends up knocking Andrade out to the floor and now back in the ring, he is firing up with a comeback run. He does a cool cartwheel flip-type spot but misses big and now Andrade is starting to take back over as Zelina is audibly heard cheering him on at ringside.

Andrade climbs to the top rope but is whacked in the side of the head by a kick from Carrillo. He follows up after Andrade now, looking for a Superplex or something along those lines. Andrade blocks him and blasts him with a chop that the entire arena reacted to.

Carrillo, crotched over the ropes stands up and hits a Super-Hurricanrana on Andrade off the top-rope. He gets a delayed cover but only scores a two count on his pin attempt. Replays are shown of that cool spot as fans chant “This Is Awesome!”

Zelina gets involved, taking the padding off the turnbuckle. Carrillo and Andrade set up a couple of high spots for the finish, including a hammerlock DDT on the concrete floor and a big dive from Carrillo over the ref’s head and out to the floor on Andrade.

Finally, we head to the finish where Andrade rolls Carrillo up and holds the tights to get the three-count. With the win, Andrade retains his title.
