Cody Rhodes talks AEW focusing on fun

All Elite Wrestling promised to be an alternative to WWE. The company will be trying to improve its product in 2020 and gain a bigger audience.

Cody Rhodes spoke to Yahoo Sports, where he talked about All Elite Wrestling’s mindset. While they want to be an alternative product, their focus will be on fun.

“We don’t think about it being different, our focus is fun, and something like that was really fun.”

Regarding the Wednesday Night Wars with NXT, Cody says that AEW is not concerned with NXT.

“There’s a romantic way to look at the ratings and say ‘Here we are, it’s the late 1990s again. Every Thursday let’s check ‘em.’ It’s fun to look at the ratings but I know internally we’re not having any pep rally speeches. Our concern is not NXT and I believe NXT’s concern is not us.”

It will be interesting to see what AEW does to deliver on its promises and make a better wrestling product.
