Khabib Nurmagomedov never holds himself back when it comes to speaking his heart out. He recently dropped some bold claims about his arch-rival and former UFC Double Champion Conor McGregor. The Dagestani doesn’t consider that Conor McGregor’s record-breaking clash against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was “a real fight.” It was previously noted that Khabib nearly attacked a fan asking for a photo.

McGregor is a box-office attraction and big money fighter. Having several accolades in his name, he decided to get the taste of squared circle. He wanted to make an impact in another combat sport. ‘The Notorious One’ decided to make his professional boxing debut against the undefeated Mayweather in one of the most high-stakes bouts in combat sports history. He suffered a disappointing defeat by a way of TKO in the tenth round and the Irish fighter reportedly walked away from the fight with a whopping $130 million in his purse.
During a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Khabib discussed some of his issues with ‘The Money Fight’ between his old nemesis Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. ‘The Eagle’ also spoke about the hostility between him and McGregor.
“It was just like a sparring fight. And for me, it was not a real fight because this guy [is] not a real boxer, and Mayweather what he did, for me it was more like a fake fight. This is just my opinion. Maybe, maybe not… Then, what was between us, was real. And everything that happened before the fight, inside the fight, after the fight,” said Nurmagomedov.
Conor McGregor is eyeing to recover soon from the broken leg he suffered against ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier last year. We will have to see when he decides to make his eventual comeback.
