Joe Rogan, a UFC commentator, podcaster, and comedian, recently shared his thoughts on transgender athlete Lia Thomas, who recently became the first openly transgender athlete to win an NCAA Division 1 championship in any sport.

During a recent episode of his podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan expressed his concerns about transgender athletes potentially having an unfair advantage over biological women. He specifically targeted Lia Thomas and claimed that she is still a biological male, despite competing in women’s swimming competitions.

Rogan’s comments also addressed Lia Thomas’ personal life, including her decision not to undergo gender confirmation surgery and her sexual orientation, which he suggested were relevant to the discussion.

“This trans athlete thing f**king blows my mind, how many people go along with this. It just blows my mind. Swimming, I mean that Lia Thomas is still the number one swimmer in the world and it’s a biological male. Period. End of discussion. It’s madness. And not only that, hasn’t even gotten penis removed and has sex with women apparently. The whole thing is so crazy that you can call yourself a woman and then you’re a woman. And like, this has nothing to do with trans rights. It just has to do with humans.”

It is important to note that the issue of transgender athletes in sports is a complex and contentious one, with valid arguments and concerns on both sides. However, some have criticized Rogan’s comments as transphobic and harmful to the transgender community.
