Could Daniel Bryan wrestle at WrestleMania 34?

Shane McMahon is more than likely heading into a match at WrestleMania involving Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, and there’s word backstage that McMahon’s partner could be none other than Smackdown General Manager, Daniel Bryan.

Bryan hasn’t wrestled since his forced retirement back in 2016. The leader of the Yes Movement stated that, along with a documented 10 concussions, he was suffering from seizures which he was hiding from the WWE. Since then, he has been working towards getting cleared, but so far WWE hasn’t budged on their judgment.

However, Daniel Bryan seems hopeful lately, as he spoke with The National recently. The former WWE Champion hinted that he might be involved in Shane’s match on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Below are a few highlights of the interview, transcribed thanks to WrestlingInc.

Could he be involved in a match with Shane against KO and Zayn at WrestleMania?

I don’t know and I don’t think they know. I think it all depends on wheter or not I get cleared. As of this moment, as of today, I am not cleared by the WWE. I have done everything in my power. Everything they have asked me to and I have gone above and beyond as far as ‘Okay, what doctors do you need me to see. Send me to any doctor you want, any doctor that you want and lets get their feedback on what is going on with me.’

So far every doctor has cleared me that they have sent me to and so there is a chance. I used to think that the percentage of the WWE ever clearin gme was low. I think with the stuff that I have done it has gone a little higher but I don’t know how much higher.

Comparisons between himself and Zayn and Owens:

I think there is so much that is similar between me, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. In terms of where we come from and also kind of the perception of some of the people in the office about Sami and Kevin and the way that people perceived me as far as thinking ‘Sami Zayn does not have the look to b e atop level WWE Superstar.’

But he has the agbility. Like people connect with him and I think the same thing with Kevin Owens and I think that makes it a very natural storyline to tell.

The rest of the interview can be seen here. Bryan also talked about the Yes movement and his emotional night at WrestleMania 30, as well as the upcoming “Greatest Royal Rumble” in Saudi Arabia.
