Dean Malenko reveals he’s suffering from Parkinson’s disease

Dean Malenko spoke to the press in a Q&A session at Starrcast III held in Chicago and revealed that he has Parkinson’s disease.

Pedro Morales, and Masa Saito are some of the names in the wrestling world that also suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s disease is a disease that slowly damages the central nervous system. The cells responsible for making dopamine in a part of the brain die, which affects the body’s motor system. Parkinson’s disease gets worse over time and people normally get the disease when they are over the age of 50.

At the Q&A, Malenko also talked about his previous job as a road agent for WWE where he worked for 19 years before leaving the company. He talked about his new role at All Elite Wrestling and what he brings to the table for the new promotion.

Malenko ended his working relationship with WWE on April 26, 2019. It was reported that the reason why Malenko was let go was because WWE was cycling out some of their older agents.

Malenko joined AEW a month later on May 24 as a senior producer.
