Drew McIntyre Removed From WWE Smackdown

Drew McIntyre failed to appear on WWE Smackdown on Friday night, less than a week after losing a six man tag with RKO-Bro against The Bloodline at WrestleMania Backlash.

WWE had reportedly cost MLW out of a television deal. This has come back to haunt Vince McMahon’s company as it will take them to the court. WWE put an end on Tubi inking a deal with another “third-party wrestling company” that had landed a deal with Tubi. MLW went on to sue WWE and described in the complaint that WWE pressured third parties to abandon contracts and prospective relationships with MLW.  WWE’s misconduct included disrupting every level of MLW’s business, including a major streaming deal for MLW which would have been transformative for the company.

MLW also alleged in the complaint that in early 2021, after MLW announced that it was in talks with VICE TV to air MLW programs on VICE TV, a then-WWE executive warned VICE TV that WWE owner Vince McMahon was “pissed” that VICE TV was airing MLW programs, and that VICE TV should stop working with MLW, the VICE TV executive responded that WWE’s conduct was illegal and an antitrust violation, with the WWE executive responding that she could not control McMahon.

Court Bauer opens up on suing WWE

MLW CEO, Court Bauer recently joined the Wrestling Inc podcast where he discussed the ongoing legal fight with Vince McMahon’s promotion.

Although Bauer mentioned that he cannot specify much about the situation, he did reveal that MLW has “exceptional” evidence to divulge WWE’s wrongdoings. He can’t say much due to the current case, but Bauer is certainly confident about how things are looking.

“Yeah, it would probably be strategically unwise to spill the beans on that here and now. I’m not trying to blue-ball you here, but all I can share is that we have exceptional, exceptional evidence of tortious interference. And as the legal process plays out, the public will see the evidence. It will come out and it’s pretty damning.”

We will have to wait and see how this case progresses.
