Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz were scheduled to face each other at UFC 230 in a light heavyweight matchup. However, the match was cancelled and combat sports fans have had to go without the dream fight since then. However, on social media via Twitter, Nate Diaz recently chirped Poirier by luring him into a potential match by posting a picture of the two staring one another down with the caption: “185 lbs pull-up”. A huge Nate Diaz fight rumor was revealed by a top UFC name.
Poirier would respond soon after by going: “I’d touch you up at any weight.” While Dustin Poirier’s last fight as the highly anticipated and highly hyped fight against ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor at UFC 264, a fight which Poirier won via doctor’s stoppage, Nate Diaz’s last fight was during UFC 263 last month where he lost via unanimous decision to Leon Edwards.
Over on the ever-popular UFC subreddit, combat sports fans have discussed the apparent challenge by Diaz to Poirier. In response to another user who said if this fight happened, it could be the first time Nate Diaz could be knocked out, one Redditor by the name of Zeusteixeira stated: “I doubt [it]. I don’t think he would win the fight but i really don’t think Dustin would be the one to do it. While BoshBosh90 put: “Diaz doesn’t really wanna fight him. or else he wouldn’t have said 185…0% chance of that.”
