There have been speculations regarding former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes, ever since he parted ways with the promotion. Cody with the former Chief Brand Officer and his wife Brandi Rhodes, recently left the company for a painful reason. It has been speculated that WWE could be their next destination and they could even work WrestleMania 38.  Previously, Cody was also expected to make his WWE return at Elimination Chamber.

Cody Rhodes could be moving to Performance Center

It was reported by eWN, that the former AEW star Cody Rhodes was in Orlando, FL on Saturday. Of course, this has caused some speculation that he was in town to begin training at the WWE Performance Center. According to sources, Cody was in town for a birthday party for AEW’s Shawn Spears. Tyler Breeze, The IInspiration, and others also attended the party.

There is no word on if Cody took part in any WWE-related activities while he was in Orlando, FL, which is of course the home of the WWE Performance Center. We will have to wait and see how this develops in the coming days.

Konnan talks about Cody Rhodes parting ways with AEW

While speaking on the Keepin It 100 podcast, Konnan spoke about a potential match the company could have set up between Brandi and Paige VanZant based on their storyline. The WCW veteran speculated that the match could have been disastrous given that both the woman are novices in the squared circle.

Konnan further said he initially thought Cody Rhodes’ AEW exit was nothing but a “work,” which would have culminated with the star returning with a heel persona:

“Obviously, it looked like it was gonna end up being her and Paige [VanZant] right? That would have been a terrible match. You’ve got two super green girls in there,” Konnan said. “But here’s what I think. I thought wow! if this is work, this is a great work. You know this is a great way to come back as a heel, I don’t know. But maybe he [Cody Rhodes] wanted a set amount of money from Tony, and WWE actually outbid Tony this time”
