El Hijo del Fantasma set for his WWE debut this week

NXT General Manager, William Regal recently announced that NXT a tournament to crown the interim WWE Cruiserweight Champion, as reigning champion Jordan Devlin is currently stuck in the United Kingdom due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic and is unable to defend his title for the foreseeable future.

 


 

With the cruiserweight tournament set to kick-start this Wednesday on NXT, WWE has now announced all the eight competitors for the tourney. With the likes of Akira Tozawa, Tony Nese, and Kushida set to compete among other notable names, it has also been confirmed that El Hijo del Fantasma is set for his debut.

The Mexican sensation signed with WWE in August of 2019 but suffered a knee injury within a short period of time that prevented the former King Cuerno of Lucha Underground to make his WWE debut.

However, Fantasma is now set to join the field of 8 who will battle it out for the interim Cruiserweight Championship Title and go-on to face Jordan Devlin in a title unification bout in the near future.

WWE has also divided the 8 superstars into two groups with the likes of Kushida, Tony Nese, Jake Atlas, and Drake Maverick in one group, whereas, Isaiah Scott, Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, and the debuting El Hijo del Fantasma in the other group.
