Update on Sasha Banks deal with NJPW

PWInsider dropped a bombshell story on Banks’ future in wrestling, reporting that The Boss would be appearing at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. When asked for comment regarding whether or not she would be appearing at the NJPW January 4th show, Wrestle Kingdom 17 there was a conspicuous silence. According to the report, typically if rumors are false they are quickly rebuffed by their NJPW however with this particular question, they would not confirm nor deny. Xero News reported on Twitter that Sasha is a free agent on January 1st.

Dave Meltzer recently reported that Banks appearance for New Japan Pro Wrestling isn’t booked through WWE. The veteran journalist noted that NJPW believes Banks will become a free agent by the time Wrestle Kingdom 17 arrives.

“This deal is not through WWE, so if the appearance isn’t blocked legally by WWE, it means she will be a free agent by that date. WWE can still sign her but NJPW believes she is free and clear by 1/4.”
