Fani Willis Explodes At Jim Jordan In Meltdown

Facing the threat of contempt of Congress proceedings, Fani Willis responded to Rep. Jim Jordan subpoena by denouncing the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee’s investigation into the Fulton County district attorney’s office as politically motivated.

In a letter to Jordan, the committee’s chairman, Willis asserted, “We will not shut down this office’s efforts to prosecute crime—including public corruption—to meet unreasonable deadlines in your politically motivated ‘investigation’ of this office.”

Earlier, Jordan had warned Willis of invoking contempt of Congress proceedings if she continued to be uncooperative with the investigation. Willis had failed to hand over documents subpoenaed by Jordan regarding her office’s use of federal funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice.

“Georgians deserve to know where their federal tax dollars are going,” stated Jordan, emphasizing that contempt was a possible consequence.

In response, Willis criticized Jordan’s document demands as unreasonable and emphasized that her office’s primary focus was prosecuting crime. She clarified that her office was in the process of producing the requested records and was making a good-faith effort to provide them.

However, Willis maintained her commitment to bringing election interference prosecutions to trial, despite any attempts to derail her efforts. She also addressed threats and attacks against her and her staff, reaffirming her dedication to fulfilling her duty to the citizens of Fulton County.

Jordan’s subpoena followed a whistleblower’s allegations of mismanagement of a DOJ grant by the Willis administration. The grant, intended for a youth advocacy center, was allegedly misused for ineligible expenses. Former Willis staffer Amanda Timpson claimed she was fired after raising concerns about financial malfeasance.
