Floyd Mayweather recently went on record to say his highly-hyped and acclaimed fight with internet sensation turned boxer Logan Paul was ‘fake’ – but was it truly smoke and mirrors? In a newly conducted interview on the ‘The Champ and the Chump’ podcast – the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr, Jeff Mayweather gave a different take than the boxing icon himself. During the interview, Mayweather’s uncle would go on to say that [Floyd] wanted to knock him out but he couldn’t and that Logan Paul was strong enough to take his nephew’s shots.
Over on the boxing subreddit, fans of the sport gave their thoughts on the comments of Jeff Mayweather. One user named bokbik proclaimed: “Logan Def was more defensive after feeling some of Floyd’s punches. Hard to knock someone out who isn’t fighting.” While another user named Henry_Cavillain replied: ” I don’t think he was “more defensive”, I think he was just plain ole gassed. Can’t throw punches when your arms are lead.”
Logan Paul recently ‘disrespected’ Mayweather on a plane. Fellow Redditor aspblaze420 would chime in by saying: “Yep, and if you aren’t an experienced boxer, once you step in the actual fight ring you get gassed out real quick. I remember when we could easily go fifteen rounds sparring, but once you jump in an actual ring in an amateur fight, suddenly you gas out after the first round. Such a different and new situation, suddenly adrenaline pumps in your veins and you got nothing left after the first three minutes.”
