Goldberg Drops WWE Retirement Bombshell

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg recently made his surprise return on July 19 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw and confronted WWE Champion Bobby Lashley after The All-Mighty got the better of Keith Lee, who had also marked his comeback.

The WCW legend was last seen on WWE television back in January when he lost to WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Goldberg opens up on Bobby Lashley

He spoke on the CarCast and revealed that he has had more time to prepare for Lashley and is looking forward to their showdown. He further said that Lashley has been copying his moves and he doesn’t understand why these stars make him come out of retirement to teach them a lesson. Here is what he had to say:

“If the guy is going to steal my move, he may as well perfect it,” he said of Lashley’s spear. “I’m thinking Godzilla vs. the geriatric King Kong. The fact is, there will not be a lot of technique, not a lot of aerial moves, I would think. It’s just two big monsters doing the old school, telling a story in a wrestling ring. Good vs. evil. At this point in my career, I keep coming back sparingly. I don’t know who is good vs. evil, I guess we’re both evil. The guy has been spearing people for ten years, trying to copy my move. The other night he does the jackhammer. I don’t understand why these guys make me come out of retirement to teach respect. This time they gave me eight weeks. Lashley is going to be pissed about that one because I’ll be doubly ready. I’m looking forward to it. We’ve talked in the past and it’s been drudgery and I’ve been bitching and moaning all the time. I’m still bitching and moaning, but I have a smile on my face because I know I’m more prepared than I was last time.”

Goldberg was given 48 hours’ notice to appear on Raw when he confronted McIntyre. The confrontation happened on the January 4 episode of Raw. Goldberg would wrestle on January 31 at the Royal Rumble. WWE ‘Reject’ Brock Lesnar 2021 Return?

When asked if having more time to prepare helps, Goldberg replied:

“It helps exponentially, there’s no doubt about that. I’m looking forward to it. It’s like putting time in at the track and being to test before you have to go out and race.”

It is to be noted that the match between Lashley and Goldberg has not been made official by WWE. We will see how the company works out in the upcoming weeks.
