WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg recently confirmed that he will making an in-ring return pretty soon.
Goldberg confirms his return
The WCW legend spoke to Max Kellerman over at the 929ESPN radio show and expressed his desire not to go out in retirement after being handed a loss in his final match. He also confidently confirmed that he will be making an in-ring return sometime soon.
“Goldberg just told Max Kellerman that he will wrestle again at some point. Says he doesn’t want to go out losing to Roman Reigns.”
Goldberg made his return to WWE in 2016 and reignited his rivalry with Lesnar, defeating The Beast Incarnate at that year’s Survivor Series in very short order. Since that return, Goldberg has competed on another 11 occasions for the company, capturing the Universal Championship on two occasions. The former WWE Universal Champion has been away from WWE. His last match took place at Elimination Chamber in February, when he had challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, he was unsuccessful in his attempt.
While speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Goldberg clarified his contract status with WWE. Goldberg stated that while he has completed his obligation for the number of matches he signed on for, he is still signed to WWE:
“I’m still waiting for that one [call] to happen one of these days. But I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until you’re dead, so who knows. Hey, I may never get the call, you never know. But you bet your ass I’ll be ready.”
