Hulk Hogan & Roman Reigns Bombshell Revealed

Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal Champion, has sparked controversy and speculation over his near 1000-day title reign. Many fans believed that his recent title defense against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 would be the end of his reign, but Reigns walked out of Hollywood with the gold. Despite this, WWE seems determined to push Reigns to make further history with the title.

Andrew Zarian of the Wrestling Observer recently responded to Jim Valley’s tweet about Reigns potentially surpassing Hulk Hogan’s 1,474-day title reign. Valley suggested that WWE’s introduction of the new World Heavyweight Championship was a way to facilitate Reigns holding the title longer. In response, Zarian revealed that he has been told numerous times that WWE wants to update its history books with longer title reigns. This statement suggests that Reigns may continue his historic reign for some time, even with the introduction of a second world title.

With the addition of a new world title, Reigns no longer has a complete monopoly over the WWE main event scene. This opens the door for Reigns to break more historic records, as Zarian suggests. WWE has shown a recent penchant for breaking long-standing records, such as The Usos and The New Day surpassing Demolition’s previously held record for the tag team titles. Additionally, Gunther is anticipated to break the Honky Tonk Man’s 454-day reign, with his current reign approaching a year.

“I have been told numerous times that WWE wants to update its history books and needs longer title reigns.”

Despite facing backlash for his recent title retention, Reigns’ historic title reign may continue for some time. Some fans are calling for a new champion, but WWE appears to have different plans. Whether this is good or bad for WWE remains to be seen, but the company seems committed to pushing Reigns to make more history with the Universal Championship. With the potential to surpass Hogan’s record-breaking reign, Reigns’ reign may become one of the most talked-about and debated title reigns in WWE history.
