Jim Ross reveals AEW deal will be finalized in “next few days”

On March 29th, Jim Ross once again left the WWE. The Hall of Famer had rejoined the company back in 2017, sporadically appearing for certain matches over the course of two years, and working the 2017 Mae Young Classic. However, Since early March, Ross made his intentions clear, letting the fans know that his contract expired on March 29th, and he’d been talking with AEW.

A few weeks ago, Ross appeared on Outside The Lines to reveal that he planned on working with All Elite Wrestling. On the latest episode of The Jim Ross Report, he delved further into the details.

We’re talking to AEW. I mentioned that before. They’re an exciting young company. I’d like to think I could contribute to their success either at ringside, calling the play-by-play, or behind the scenes. Those details are still being discussed and when we get something finalized, I’m thinking within the next few days at most, we’ll let everybody know.

Life is good, man. When one door closes, another door opens. And if all goes well, knock on wood [knocks]. Hear it? I’m knocking on wood that everything’s cool. It’s going to be a good year.

H/T to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.

Picking up Ross would be great for All Elite Wrestling, giving fans looking for something different a familiar voice that can help them get acquainted with a new company.
