Carlito calls John Cena as his ‘biggest supporter’

Carlito had a fine run during his stint in WWE. His run had lasted for about six years and he had began his career on a high note.

His debut match came upon as a WWE United States Championship bout against John Cena. He eventually defeated Cena for the title in his debut match to be crowned the champion.

He would then feud with the Doctor of Thuganomics for the next few months. He revealed that he was not expecting such a huge deal of a debut.

He said:“I didn’t expect it at all. I felt a lot of responsibility, like a ‘don’t screw this up.’ It felt like such a long time ago, but it’s great. Of course you got one of the biggest stars, one of the biggest rising stars at the time, and to give me a push like that was great for me.”

Carlito also expressed his thankfulness to Cena for willingly dropping the title to him. He also addressed the former WWE United States Champion as one of his biggest supporters.

He said:

“He’s always been a giving guy. He’s always been one of my biggest cheerleaders. Of course, if he doesn’t agree with it then it doesn’t go down. So it was very gracious to him to allow a young kid to come in and do the honors for me.”

Carlito had not made an appearance on RAW: Legends Night edition due to travel issues but he did make his WWE return in the most anticipated 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match and surprised the fans with his performance.
