The former 16-time World Champion John Cena is being advertised for the July 4rth episode of SmackDown Live from Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ, as noted by Wrestlinginc.
Cena last appeared on WWE TV at WrestleMania 33 where he teamed up with his fiancee Nikki Bella to defeat the team of The Miz and his wife Maryse. After the match, John proposed Nikki.
Later the former Diva’s Champion announced through her Instagram account that she’ll be taking time off from wrestling and they are planning their wedding but no further details have been revealed till now.
Since his match at Mania, the former United States Champion has taken time off from WWE due to his other projects, notably for shooting movies such as The Wall, and Daddy’s Home 2
Currently, it’s not known whether Cena will be making an on-screen appearance on the show and if he will stay with the company for subsequent SmackDown episodes or he will continue his hiatus after the above-mentioned show.
Though if the Cenation leader decides to stay for long, there are a number of exciting feuds that look to be awaiting him after the superstar Shakeup with stars he has faced before such as Kevin Owens or Rusev.
Or he can get involved in a feud with someone he has never had a long-term programme with such as Jindar Mahal.
It’s interesting to note here that Brock Lesnar will also be making his WWE return just 1 week prior to Cena, though he will be appearing on Raw and is expected to wrestle at the Raw exclusive PPV following it.
