Jon Jones Allegedly Robbed By Top UFC Star

Jorge Masvidal recently spilled some details about UFC star Colby Covington. He also spoke about Covington’s contentious relationship with former UFC champion Jon Jones. It has been noted how Jones and Covington were once college roommates. They have been also noted to be trading shots for years. Jorge Masvidal opens up on the matter

‘Gambred’ claimed how Jones had forewarned him on multiple occasions, divulging that Covington robbed ‘Bones.’ He further revealed how Covington complained to him about Jones:

“Jon Jones warned me numerous times. Me and Jon Jones weren’t even cool like that, we hadn’t spoken too much,” Masvidal said. “But he sent a couple of messages to me via our managers at the time, like, ‘Man, watch this guy. He stole my clothes; my clothes don’t even fit him. He robbed me of money before he left the room. I never talked to him again.’

“And then Colby would just bad-mouth Jon Jones. Always to me in the room, like, ‘Jon Jones this, Jon Jones that…’ I was a Jon Jones fan, we were watching his fight, and he’s like, ‘Man, this guy’s a piece of shit. He used to f—ng do this and that, this and that.’ I’m like, there’s always three sides of the story: there’s yours, there’s mine, and the truth.”

The grudge match between Covington and Masvidal is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, this weekend.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour podcast, American Top Team owner Dan Lambert took credit for what was deemed as Colby Covington’s current ‘persona’ however, he admits that he didn’t know how far he would take things. Credit to MMAFighting for the following below.

“I may have put an ingredient or two into the early mix of what you see now, I didn’t think Dr. Frankenstein was going to come along and add every other ingredient in the world to it and make it blow up the way it blew up,” Lambert said. “It’s one thing s******* on a particular country or a particular guy to get under people’s skins and to get yourself noticed, it’s another thing to take it to the next level and s*** on every single person in the entire sport and everybody in every other sport. Men and women and people in different weight classes and then people in your gym.

Lambert would go on to also say the below.

“If I had seen it going down that direction and knew then what I know now about what a distraction it would be for our gym, I probably would have tried to insert myself a little differently into that equation.”
