Khabib Nurmagomedov will forever go down in history as one of the best MMA fights in the history of the sport. Nurmagomedov’s last professional MMA fight took place back in October 2020 where he earned a second-round submission victory over Justin Gaethje to successfully retain the UFC Lightweight Title. After that, he retired for good. Khabib’s drug test results were recently leaked as well.
A recent video featured Khabib running away in the midst of a crowd of security personnel and his entourage. Many people believed that it was a supposed attack on Khabib by a Russian individual. However, it seems that was not the case.
Khabib Nurmagomedov recently spoke to RT Sport, Khabib stated that the alleged attacker was just a regular fan, and he thought he may have had a knife.
“Not at all, at least I hope not. It was just a fan who wasn’t let in. He saw me leaving and ran up to me. He tripped but I didn’t see it. He was behind me. I hope there was no knife. Things like that happen, everything’s OK.
“He wanted a photo but he tripped. We took a photo [in the end],” quipped Khabib Nurmagomedov.
It is good to know that it was not a serious incident as initially believed.
