WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle was one of the most gifted in-ring performers in all of WWE’s history. When he made his transition into pro wrestling, Angle didn’t have much knowledge of the business and how things worked.
While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle discussed the meeting he had with Bruce Prichard, shortly after Angle had met Vince McMahon for the first time.
Angle made an absurd pitch to Prichard, where he told him that Angle didn’t want to lose a single match in WWE.
“I told him, ‘Just so you know. I am an Olympic gold medalist. I haven’t lost a match in years. I can’t lose’, and you know you could see the surprised look on his face like, ‘What the hell is this kid talking about?’. Bruce just ended the meeting, he said, ‘Okay…we’re good. This meeting is over.’ I didn’t know if he was offended or not, he didn’t seem upset, but I think he just said, ‘Okay! This guy is not getting it, we’re not gonna be able to sign him.’”
Thankfully, Angle learned the pro wrestling business quickly and went on to have a tremendous career, competing in various promotions.
