Lio Rush isn’t comfortable wrestling during Coronavirus pandemic

With WrestleMania 36 now moving to the Performance Center, WWE is still expecting to pull off the Show of Shows. There are quite a few matches left to lay out before we get to April 5th, with several Superstars who have yet to find their spot.

One such Superstar is former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush. The Man of the Hour has been sparingly used in 2020 as he’s been more focused on his rap career. When it comes to stepping back in the ring, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s a little cautious. Rush recently spoke to Forbes, and stated that he wasn’t sure Mania would be taking place on it’s scheduled date.

If the situation is the same or getting worse, I don’t see it. It’s not that I don’t see it happening. It’s just that I don’t think it’s the smartest thing in the world. Plus I know that the whole ban, [Florida’s] ban, is in effect right now. And I know a lot of fans, especially during WrestleMania, they come out from all over the world.

When asked if he would be comfortable wrestling during the pandemic, he had this to say.

I am not. Just because how the situation has kind of flared up, and the little amount of time it has [flared up], I don’t think it’s smart. I dunno, I just feel like all of the wrestlers, and the production crew and just everybody involved are coming from different states, and coming from different countries, and travel through airports and being in contact with everybody.

So yeah, I definitely don’t feel comfortable with the whole idea of it.
