Mandy Rose Banned From Wrestling Company?

Mandy Rose was recently released from her WWE contract. She had been one of NXT’s most crucial parts of the women’s division. She had won the NXT Women’s Championship last year and went on to have a reign of 413 days and defended it ten times. However, she was released and WWE Vice President of Talent Development Shawn Michaels rewrote this week’s NXT to get the title off Mandy Rose. It was also reported that the company attempted to spread a narrative about Rose.

It was reported that Mandy Rose was released from her WWE contract due to content she posted behind her premium content paywall as first reported by Fightful. Prior to that, Rose dropped the title to Roxanne Perez on this week’s NXT, which certainly shocked fans. More updates have emerged as to why WWE decided to release her.

Update on reason for Mandy Rose release

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer chimed in with what he knows about the situation. Meltzer stated it was decided on the day of the show that Mandy needed to drop the title:

“There was a meeting and Matt Bloom brought to Shawn Michaels, told him some of the stuff that she’s been putting on her subscription service, and told Shawn what was there. And Shawn’s immediate thing was, we got to get the title off of her immediately. Switched around the whole show, got the title off of her.”

“They had advertised the match for January 10th. They might have done the title change, it would have been either January 10th or February 4th. I believe they were gonna do the title change, that Perez was going to win the title. But it was not going to be [this week]. Then of course right after they got the title from her, then they fired her. So, that’s what happened.”

You know there’s been lot of interesting things here. I mean, does AEW go after her? If they want her will TBS and TNT allow her with this stuff out there? She’s had the subscription service and it got popular and lucrative. She went further and further, and the feeling was that she way, way, way crossed the line. They believe that they had absolutely no choice but to get rid of her in that situation…they promised sponsors a cleaner product as far as who the people are.”

It has been noted that Mandy Rose still had two years left on her contract when she was released from the company. Fans have been enraged with the decision of WWE to release her. We will have to wait and see how this progresses.
