Former President Donald Trump recently dined with wife Melania, Fox anchor Maria Bartiromo and her husband at his New Jersey golf club after his D.C. court appearance.
Daily Mail reported that Trump took up his usual hosting duties when he returned to Bedminster with a double date on Thursday night. Members went ‘wild with love’ and gave him a hero’s welcome as he walked around saying ‘hello’ and shaking hands.
He then sat down for dinner with the first lady, Bartiromo and her husband Jonathan Steinberg – just hours after pleading not guilty to four federal charges related to the 2020 election and January 6.
‘The President and First Lady had dinner with Maria Bartiromo and her husband Jonathan. It was a very nice dinner, and the Crowd at the Club went wild with love!’ spokesman Jason Miller told DailyMail.com.
It has been noted that Thursday marked the first time that Trump hasn’t delivered a speech after facing a judge. In April, when he appeared in court in New York City for the Stormy Daniels hush-money case, Trump returned to Mar-a-Lago and addressed supporters there.
In June, when his federal court date was in Miami, Florida, Trump first stopped by a Cuban restaurant to greet supporters.
He then boarded Trump Force One and returned to Bedminster and gave a speech outside the clubhouse. There had previously been a fundraiser scheduled at the New Jersey golf club for that date, so the ex-president dined with donors too.
Melania Trump skipped both of these speeches, as she’s yet to participate in any campaign events this year, but has been spotted alongside her husband at Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster. She was last photographed leaving Trump Tower in New York in late June.
