Melina has posted a back side view photo of Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble. She wrote, “Thank you for all the love and edits for a match vs @sashabankswwe. I love them!
Last year, @impactwrestling & @nwa gave me two great matches that I will always cherish. One with @deonnapurrazzo & the other with @kamillebrickhouse. Both gave me so much joy. It also proved I can still get in there with the best… SO, that night at the Royal Rumble, I was ready to GO!
I wish that moment with Sasha was a singles match. To think if we were able to get a reaction like we did that night without wrestling… Can you imagine what we could do if we actually wrestled?!!!
I can wish for a match with you with all my heart and it may never happen, but whether it was 5 seconds, 60 seconds or 20 minutes in the ring with you Sasha, I’m grateful for that magic moment at the Rumble no matter how short. I will forever keep that in my heart. ♥️” Ronda Rousey won the women’s Rumble match. You can see the photo below.
Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion and combat sports icon Ronda Rousey was not seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, where she dropped the RAW Women’s Title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match which also had Charlotte Flair in the mix. Ronda Rousey also showed her backside in a photo with Becky Lynch recently.
Since then fans simply did not know whether the Rowdy One would ever return to WWE as they had lost all hope. However, their hope bore fruit in the end.
Rousey, who made her shocking and surprise return to the WWE at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event earned herself a shot at a WWE Women’s Championship match against the champion of her choosing at WWE WrestleMania 38. Rousey’s appearance at the 2022 Royal Rumble was her first appearance for the company since losing to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 in New York in a triple threat match that also featured Charlotte Flair.
During last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Ronda Rousey’s promo made it clear she is still bitter towards WWE fans. This all started after fans turned on her during Survivor Series 2018, where Charlotte Flair decimated her with weapons. WWE even talked to Ronda Rousey and told her to let all the bitterness towards WWE fans go.
Ronda Rousey recently spoke on her Facebook stream, where she revealed that it is simply too hard for her to not get affected by fans trash-talking her and taking it personally.
“It’s hard not to take [trash talk] personally from the fans because I don’t go out there as — I mean I do go out there as a character, but I am also actually Ronda Rousey, so I don’t play Ronda Rousey on television. So sometimes I take it personally from the fans, not so much from the wrestlers. The fans, I do.”
