More backstage news from Extreme Rules, Mr. McMahon reportedly absent

Vince McMahon is known as a workhorse among his employees and the boss is usually present for every televised WWE show whether it be Raw, SmackDown or a PPV.

So it was a real surprise when McMahon did not show up for the Extreme Rules PPV and the Boss was reportedly not in the arena for the show.

According to PWInsider, in McMahon’s absence, Triple H and Billy Kidman were the two guys running things from the Gorilla Position backstage and Vince was in contact with the two.

The site also reports that the original main event plans for the show were different and the Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins match was originally expected to open the PPV.

The last hour was expected to feature Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss and AJ Styles vs. Rusev, with Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley as the main event but things were changed later on.

Good news, everyone, WWE is still able to put on poor shows even when Vince isn’t there. So for all of you fearing how WWE was going to be in fifty years when Vince eventually does die, worry not, they’ll still be able to give you the disappointment you are accustomed to.
