A former NJPW star might be making his debut on tonight’s SmackDown. It seems that the company has big plans for SmackDown after WrestleMania 40. Well, it is none other than Tama Tonga.
In years past, the RAW and SmackDown after WrestleMania have featured some pretty memorable moments with call-ups from NXT, surprising debuts, and returns. There is a huge possibility that he could join the blue brand.
Tonight’s episode will be the first for the blue brand after the events of WrestleMania 40. There has been massivebuzz going into this show now that two new world champions were crowned for SmackDown during WrestleMania 40, billed as ‘biggest WrestleMania ever’. Cody Rhodes has become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion by dethroning Roman Reigns, while Bayley is the newly crowned WWE Women’s Champion after defeating former Damage CTRL teammate, IYO SKY.
As per the reports of Mike Johnson of PWInsider, former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Tama Tonga has been seen in Detroit ahead of tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Johnson has confirmed that Tonga has inked a deal with WWE, and the company expects him to start shortly. The SmackDown stars will be in action inside Little Caesars Arena, so it’ll be interesting to see if Tama Tonga makes his debut on the show.
It has come to light that this report comes hot off after reports emerged that former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu had also signed with the company during WrestleMania weekend.
