Tonight’s episode of NXT featured two title bouts. Finn Balor challenged Adam Cole at the beginning of the show, while Shayna Baszler defended against Rhea Ripley to close the night.
Going into the main event, nobody had ever given Baszler the kind of grief that Ripley had. Early on, the Nightmare had the champ’s number, even scaring her with a fake punch at the beginning.
However, with a little help from Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, it seemed that Baszler was going to walk out still NXT Women’s Champion. That wouldn’t be the case, though. Ripley managed to fight out of the Kirifuda Clutch multiple times before planting Baszler with an Avalanche Riptide for the win.

With that win, Ripley became the first woman to ever hold both the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT UK Women’s Championship.
