NXT Tag Team Champions War Raiders repackaged and drafted to RAW

War Raiders - Viking Experience

There’s just no telling what goes on in the mind of Vince McMahon. At the Superstar Shake-up edition of Monday Night RAW, the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, formerly known as “War Raiders”, were repackaged as “The Viking Experience” and drafted to the red brand.

Ivar and Erik (formerly Hanson and Rowe), debuted on RAW in an 8-man tag team match where they teamed up with the Revival against Aleister Black and Ricochet and the RAW Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

The repackaged tag team emerged victorious and pinned the RAW Tag Team Champions to win this match.

It sounds like the name of a garage band

Split up the Riott Squad, add Sarah Logan to this group, and push Ruby and Liv as singles competitors.

And now we have Road Dogg telling everyone that they are wrong for not liking the name. That man is quite frankly the biggest corporate suck up in WWE right now, and is a perfect example of why WWE viewing figures are dropping. His whole defense of the name is that more people will know that name in a month than ever knew War Machine. What an incredibly blinkered view.
We get told by the McMahons on TV that they need to start listening to fans more and they are the authority now not the McMahons, and then along comes Road Dogg telling the fans they are wrong everytime they voice their opinion of WWE doing something dumb. This is why WWE is not pulling in the figures it should.

Cracking up at Mick Foley trying to justify this name change and constantly giving examples that actually have no relative comparison from the past. Trying to compare changing “Kane The Undertaker” to “The Undertaker” first off, then brought up Mankind completely forgetting that was a complete gimmick change not just a rebranding of an existing character.

I still can’t get over how amazing their new name is… it’s only a matter of time until they do the whole shorten the name thing into “The Vikings”
