I hear you, next week I’m going to have two Comedian I know who love AEW Co-Host and offer up their take on why they enjoy it.

  • Johnny wrestling

You gotta ignore this Nicholas guy. He obviously didn’t read Zach’s comment above. Zach goes into extensive details. And what Zach is saying is what a lot of people have said in detail about WWE. Like Bilal, Nicholas just says stuff to get a reaction. And unfortunately it works. Billal’s anti AEW podcasts seem to receive more feedback than his pro WWE podcasts. I think these guys just go against the grain because they know it’ll get others riled up.

  • Michael Justin Arnold

The moron said he despises Tony Schiavone for no reason at all. Then says he says Joey Janela gives him a “Zack Ryder vibe” so he discounts him as well for no reason. Then he insults Kenny Omega and says he doesnt need to ever hear him speak.

I seriously hope no one actually pays him to do this podcast…

  • Nicholas Giambattista

Well at least you go into detail why you don’t like what is going on in AEW. I mean for the people crying about how bad WWE has been on the internet they never go into detail because I don’t think WWE is as bad as people think. No it not perfect but I enjoy the wrestling part of the WWE lately can’t say the same about AEW.

  • Zach

Bro stop it. WWE is predictable. And lately it’s been garbage.

The draft: War rooms, meant to make WWE look like a sport, made WWE look like trash. They wore the same clothes both weeks.

They drafted people like the Miz under people like Humberto. Instead of talking about it being a “reach’. Every single pick the commentators were like “this is a great pick”. But AEW commentary is bad?

AEW talks about physical advantages and disadvantages, they talk about strategy. They make me actually feel like I’m watching a sport. Even if they aren’t perfect Schivani and JR are a breath of nostalgic fresh air.

The wrestling is REALLY GOOD. I’ve literally skipped past almost every WWE match in recent memory because the wrestling is so predictable, and boring. AEW wrestling has been far superior.

Storytelling, AEW has just been getting started, so I can’t judge yet. But WWE has had the most terrible storytelling. Seth burns down the fun house, now it’s just fine? The whole Hell in a Cell debacle?

I’m sorry, but why are and of these people feuding? Lashley and Rusev are the only real story really going on to date.

Oh don’t forget the champion that never shows up. Or constant matches with no stakes. Or their complete failure to create meaningful tag team wrestling.

Look. I have been watching WWE for YEARS. I don’t have any AXE to grind. I didn’t even watch AEW PPVs online. I just started watching with their TNT debut.

They are a work in progress but with how terrible the draft was and how terrible the wrestling has been and how terrible the storytelling has been, they are in really big trouble.

You are probably either getting paid by WWE or you are blatantly ignoring the countless WWE issues I mentioned. I can name countless issues. Even the Nikki and Alexa draft debacle. You commentated on your podcast and practically ignored the fact that they didn’t get drafted as a tag team. Then they got drafted to the same show anyway, pretty early on, then got traded for nothing…

Seriously let us know why you are ignoring this stuff

  • CC

I am not even gonna click on this as we already had this discussion on one of you last ill informed podcasts.
I have been critical of certain aspects of AEW and still rate NXT as head and shoulders above them right now, but to say AEW is bad is just ignorant. Is their commentary bad? Yes. Is their production values lacking? Yes. Do they need to stop constantly taking shots at WWE? Yes.
But all of this is a building process for them. They have to find out what works and what doesn’t and it is going to be a lot of trial and error from here on in until they find the sweet spot.
Saying it is “bad” is totally ignoring the fact that the wrestling (and holy spit, a wrestling show with actual wrestling?) is stupendous.

One benefit WWE has over AEW is history, and while WWE does go overboard with their soap opera antics, their history does actually help build feuds etc, and AEW right now has minimal history, but once again, given a small amount of time that will start to click as well.

Your anti-AEW bias is no better than people who rag on WWE for all the wrong reasons too.

Rome was not built in a day, and neither will AEW be. The foundations they are laying down though, look very strong and even a jaded old idiot like me can see past the faults and look at the potential.

  • Bilal

I’d like to think both of these are true on some level.

  • Keith Learmonth

And even after that, he still thinks AEW is worse… you just managed to bury AEW even further.

  • Keith Learmonth

    AEW is great.
Some of the wrestlers, however, much like Seth Rollins, need to learn to just stop talking sometimes.

  • Kira

Not sure if I am watching the same TV show that these two are. AEW is awesome, and this dude is as out of touch with wrestling as VKM is

  • SD38439

If you’ve seen 5 minutes of the Jerry Springer Show while also watching paint dry, you’ve seen the last 20+ years of the pro wrestling industry up until a month ago.

  • SD38439

So in other words you’ve never witnessed good wrestling in real time, and your views were shaped entirely on watching two decades worth brainless dribble created by Vince and Co, and the laundry list of no-talent has-beens who wrote for TNA; all of which was made for the ultra low IQ demographic that remained after wrestling lost its core fanbase.

  • Michael Justin Arnold

So in other words you started watching when wrestling started to die. You don’t know what the good times were like.

  • Soulshroude

Then… I disagree that these days, fans have become complacent.

  • Dirt McGirt

I hope you get cancer from being so negative. You deserve it.

  • Luke

If you’ve seen WCW Nitro, you’ve seen AEW Dynamite.

  • F. Loyd B. Pippin

I told you guys this was coming.

  • Bilal

Ohh no I did a full podcast were me and my Co-Host disucussed it in detail, did you forget to push play? I have to admit several aspects are a breath of fresh air but the production, the commentary, the booking, the rules changes, the directions IS BAD and not just bad but some of the mistakes ARE THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN ON TV.

That’s the short verison. I have been a fan of wrestling for 18 years.

  • Soulshroude

Sooo, your own opinion is that AEW is bad without any reason why it’s bad… while in my perspective, AEW is a breath of fresh air when it comes to wrestling, without too much scripting where the wrestlers can be themselves and throwing more wrestling moves in that the WWe had subsequently banned.

Your view… vs is rhetoric to me. How long have you actually been a wrestling fan?
