Possible reason for WWE banning Superstars from streaming on third party sites

As reported earlier, Vince McMahon told WWE Superstars that they will have to cease using third party sites such as Twitch and Cameo. They have been given 30 days to comply with the decision. Several fans have shown their disapproval of the action.

It is not yet clear what other third party sites the ban will include, but it seems YouTube channels are safe as of now if reports are to be believed. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the current situation.

Meltzer said that it is very likely that WWE wants to make their own deal, which would be undercut as well as made no longer exclusive by any wrestler having individual deals. He said that he is still waiting for confirmation and the talent do not have the full picture either.

It is likely the company wants to do something that they will have full control over. WWE Superstars were able to be independent and make money from third party sites but it seems that will come to an end from October 2nd.

We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
