Randy Orton on why he teased leaving WWE

Randy Orton certainly made news when he teased leaving for AEW recently. However, he had no actual intention of leaving WWE as he signed a new 5-year contract with the company.

During After The Bell, Orton talked to Corey Graves, where he was asked about the possibility of jumping ship to any other wrestling promotion. Orton revealed he was simply having a good time with him teasing that he would go to AEW and he would never leave WWE.

“Yeah, I was just having fun. More-so now than ever I’m aware of other guys like Will Ospreay and other guys who worked with Cody and I’m watching more wrestling. I’m not in the WWE bubble as much as I’ve been for almost the last two decades and I’m learning to appreciate other styles a little more instead of just quickly seeing something that isn’t how I would do it or isn’t how I would sell it and I’m realizing in its own way it’s good.”

“This might be upsetting for some people, but I never really saw myself leaving WWE. To me, it was about getting to the point where I’m happy and what I’m doing to my body and the amount of time that I’m gone from my family. In the end, it’s all gonna be worth it and that’s where I’m at right now so I’m definitely happy being a WWE Superstar.”

Orton is still a fan of watching wrestling outside of WWE and it is great to know he will be sticking with the company. He is scheduled to compete in Survivor Series as part of the RAW Men’s Team.
