After recovering from a “$1.8 Million dollar tune-up” earlier this week, 70-year-old Ric Flair is already back delivering his patented promos.
In a two-part YouTube video upload, Flair thanks his friends and family for supporting him through his recent hospital visit and as expected vows to continue living that signature Nature Boy lifestyle, despite doctors warning him that he needs to “act his age.”
“First of all, thank you to my beautiful family. To all my friends, to all the doctors, nurses, everybody who brought me back again. It’s a miracle again! It’s a $1.8 million dollar tune-up on the Nature Boy. That’s how much all this has cost… It’s OK, because I lived. And I’m living here to tell you that the kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, limousine riding, jet flying son of a gun is not going to change, slow down. I’m going to move forward. I’ve got autographs to sign. Commercials to make. Pictures to take. Friends to have a cold beer with – and I mean two cold beers, if it’s Stone Cold.”
“Part two” of the video features Flair calling out WWE Hall of Famer and the man who retired him, Shawn Michaels, over comments HBK made in Flair’s ESPN documentary where he said Ric Flair doesn’t know who Richard Fliehr is, as a person.
“Ric doesn’t love Richard Fliehr. I don’t know that he’s ever taken the time to get to know him or to find out who in the world he is.”
Given Michaels’ own past, Flair took umbrage with the comments and said the former leader of DX is in no position to judge him:
“Shawn Michaels, I’m sorry but you’re not in a position to judge me, buddy. Telling me I’ll never know who Richard Fliehr is. Really? Do I think I’ll ever know? I don’t know. Richard Fliehr, like I said before, was an irresponsible kid who was blessed with the greatest parents in the world, did everything wrong. And by the way, who are you to judge me? I mean, really? Come on man, let’s get serious. You’ve opened the door, so I’m…. You opened the door, I’m giving it back to you.
Who are you to judge me? I mean, are you kidding me? You idolized me, and then all of a sudden contempt, for what? For what you grew up loving? For what inspired you to be who you are? I don’t think so man.”
