Roman Reigns, Aleister Black & more to be absent from SmackDown Live

SmackDown Live

Several SmackDown Live superstars will be absent tonight, it seems. After the announcement of the Wild Card Rule last night, the Flagship Brand has taken four talents with them as they move on to their European tour.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, SmackDown Live’s Roman Reigns, Aleister Black, Elias, and Apollo Crews are reportedly all touring with Raw. Johnson stated that the WWE’s touring itineraries were locked in before the Superstar Shake-Up occurred, which may be why the rule was implemented last night.

Last night, Daniel Bryan made his in-ring return after a nearly two-month absence. Hopefully, if this is true, he makes his way to the Blue Brand tonight to fill the void. If so, we may see a showdown between the Planet’s Champion, Kevin Owens, and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

Well seeing as Black has yet to actually appear on SD since being moved there other than the little video packages (one of which aired last night), its hardly a surprise he is not on the show in person again.

Simple fact is, while “card subject to change” is the go to phrase, maybe in this instance WWE just wanted to honour pre-advertised appearances, as these house shows would have been advertised before the shake up. Same as I would not be surprised to see all the ex-SD guys at SD house shows.
