Roman Reigns defeated John Cena at WWE SummerSlam this past weekend in what was surely an encounter for the ages. Taking to social media via Twitter the reigning and defending WWE Universal Champion retweeted a video which showed a young John Cena fan watching the match and going through the ups of downs which lead to Cena’s ultimate demise = despite a top effort from the future WWE Hall of Famer. Roman Reigns recently revealed this top wrestling star as a ‘fraud’.
Reigns would caption the video clip, which was originally sent out by Bleacher Report wrestling by stating: “Your Tribal Chief keeps his promises kid.” You can view it below.
Although Reigns clearly didn’t put a smile on that young John Cena fan’s face, during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the ‘Tribal Chief’ proclaimed how his goal is to be someone that kids can look up to. Credit to the outlet for the below.
“I enjoy entertaining and the whole philosophy of WWE—putting smiles on faces—and that became even more intimate after I shared my story and my fight against leukemia,” Reigns says. “I love the great matches and the adrenaline rush of a live microphone and popping the crowd, making memories with The Usos and Paul, but nothing compares to being with these children and being able to positively affect their day. That’s the true purpose of all this. I’m blessed to be able to make that kind of difference in the world, which extends deeper than my career. That is the purpose in my life.”
