Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, holding the WWE title and Universal title together for a long time now. Reports have emerged that ‘The Tribal Chief’ is likely to drop the WWE title ahead of WrestleMania 39.
Roman Reigns could be stripped off the title
The Wrestling Blog noted that “Roman Reigns will be stripped of his WWE belt right after Royal Rumble.” The outlet’s source reported that the decision has been made not that long ago.
It has been further noted that this decision came down because USA Network pressuring WWE to have a main Champion at RAW, this will lead to a storyline between Reigns and Sami.
Xero News has also reported that a pitch which is not confirmed is that Roman gets stripped. A tournament to crown new Champ is also reportedly planned. The finals are being planned to take place at the main event of WrestleMania Night one.
The outlet further noted that a match between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes for the WWE title has been reported. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns is expected to drop the title before WrestleMania.
