The former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey could be making her huge return soon at Royal Rumble as per the reports. The reports have certainly stunned the fans it seems that the current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch could be her potential opponent upon return. Perhaps, they could lock horns for a match at WrestleMania 38. Fans have been wondering about the contract status of Rousey and reports emerged regarding that matter.
Ronda Rousey might have signed a new deal
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com confirmed that Rousey has been training to return and she is still under contract to WWE. Her original deal reportedly expired in April of last year. Meltzer wrote the following:
“Either a new deal was put together or WWE froze her three-year deal since she really only worked the first year and a few months of it.”
Meltzer did not confirm that Rousey will be in the women’s Rumble match but noted that a match between her and Becky Lynch for Wrestlemania 38 has been discussed internally. Rousey’s Royal Rumble appearance is quite certain as it has been reported that at least one WWE official flew to California to meet with her last week, and that her stylist is booked for The Rumble and Monday’s post-Rumble RAW.
Rousey had originally went on a hiatus in order to build her family. She and husband Travis Browne welcomed their first child together back in late September, a daughter named La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. The former UFC champion has not wrestled since the WrestleMania 35 main event in 2019, with Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Rousey had also revealed that back in October she was ready to resume training.
