Rumor: WWE plans to push Jeff Hardy to keep him away from AEW

A number of WWE stars have left the company to join AEW in recent times and it appears that WWE Officials are worried about losing another former World Champion to the upstart promotion.

WWE aired a video package for Jeff Hardy on this week’s episode of SmackDown and according to WrestlingNews.co, this is the start of a big push for the former Champion.

The former TNA star went into inpatient rehab for the time in his life in late 2019 after relapsing and the Boss Vince McMahon is said to be impressed with his determination to get clean.

McMahon also wants to show Jeff Hardy that he will be treated well in the company and to show that WWE is the better option for him, the promotion is likely to give him big money contract offer to stay away from AEW.

Jeff Hardy’s brother Matt Hardy recently left WWE to join AEW but there is almost a year left on Jeff’s contract because the company added time to his deal due to the period he missed while recovering from injury.
