Earlier it was rumoured that Shinsuke Nakamura would go after the United States title following Money In The Bank and when AJ Styles won the prestigious title, people started speculating that we may get to see Styles vs. Nakamura at SummerSlam.
These rumours went well with the reports that WWE is planning to make this year’s SummerSlam PPV the biggest till now, as seeing AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura inside a WWE Ring would be a dream come true for fans.
Though during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer talked about the recent episode of SmackDown Live and when this match was mentioned he noted that WWE is not going in this direction at all.
He further stated that the company might do this match sometime down the line but currently, they have no such plans and there is no timeline set as when we may finally get to see these two colliding inside a WWE ring.
